Two-day choir camp: Mastering the Kodály Method
Join us for an immersive experience personally led by Susanna Saw, Vice President of the International Kodály Society (IKS). This workshop demonstrates the "High Achievement and Suitable Learning" philosophy through live demonstrations with a children’s choir (ages 6–12).
Participants will gain first-hand insight into how an expert instructor navigates real-world challenges and shapes a newly formed choir through authentic interaction.
Course Structure: The "1+2+1" Immersive Mode
1 hour of Preparation + 2 hours of Live Demonstration + 1 hour of In-depth Review
This comprehensive approach allows educators to experience the full rehearsal cycle—from conceptualization and execution to reflection and optimization—witnessing the practical application of Kodály philosophy.
Course contents:
Day 1 (Wednesday, 8/4/2026)

Strategic Planning: Essential steps to prepare for your choir's first rehearsal.

Live Observation: Witnessing the first rehearsal, icebreaking, building trust, and delivering new music

Pedagogical Analysis: A collaborative review of rehearsal techniques and children's responses.
Day 2 (Thursday, 9/4/2026)

Progressive Planning: Preparing for subsequent rehearsals and long-term growth.

Advanced Observation: Techniques for deepening musicality, refining rehearsals, and elevating overall performance quality.

Reflective Practice: Final review and discussion on pedagogical strategies and choral development.

Dates: 8/4 & 9/4 (Wed & Thu)
Time: 14:00 - 18:00 (4 hours daily)
Location: VNSAA St. Hilary's School
Suitable for: Current or prospective music teachers, school music teachers, conductors, and music students who are engaged in or interested in teaching children's choir.

Fees for course materials:
Authorized sheet music will be provided, participants must purchase the sheet music set for $50 for use in the course.

Children's choir member recruitment
Two-day choir camp by applying the Kodály philosophy! A practical children's choir personally guided by Susanna Saw, Vice President of the International Kodály Society.
We are now recruiting several children aged 6-12 to form a choir. Children who participate in the choir do not need any choral experience. During the two-day choral camp, they will receive on-site physical rehearsals from internationally renowned choral instructors using the ⭐️High-Level and Suitable Teaching Philosophy⭐️.
All members of the children's choir will participate in various musical games during the two-day choir camp to improve their musical skills and learn two songs to perform at the end of the camp!

Dates: April 8th and 9th, 2026 (Wednesday and Thursday)

We are recruiting children aged 6-12 (no choir experience required).
Number of slots: 30-50
